Happy Anniversary

If you have noticed all the flags flying today then you may realize that it is our anniversary. Yes, those who are truly patriotic will fly their flags in honor of our eternal union 24 years ago. Wow, has it been a great 24 years. We have lived all over, are in the midst of raising 8 children up to the Lord, and continue to grow in strength and love with each other.
I love my sweetheart. We meet at college where he wooed me with his charm, good looks, strength, desire to take good care of me, handyman/fix anything abilities, and love of the Lord and family. He has not let me down. He is the genuine thing. We have lived different places, tried different things, been on many vacations together--seen the world and we continue to find more things to do together and ways to be better.
I am so grateful for all he says, does, and is. I love sharing this journey of live with my best friend. I love working together towards doing things the Lord's way. I love having common goals and values. Today we will go to the temple together again. Just like 24 years ago and although I was very happy on that wonderful wedding day, I am even happier today with the love of my life.

flying chickens

So remember our cute little baby chicks. . . well they are getting bigger but we still keep them separate from the adults so they don't get attacked. The kids are actually enjoying them a lot more than I imagined. A few days ago Ike and Sim were playing with the baby chicks in the sand box. Then yesterday I see Ike on top of a pile of big logs. As I get closer I realize that he and Sim both have a baby chick and they are teaching them to fly by pushing them off the logs. Yikes! Chickens don't fly and apparently baby chicks don't either. We do still have 9 living chicks. That's what we started out with so we are doing well and they are surviving their initiation into the family coop.

Thanks to Steve's neighbor we also have three new "but a little bit older" chickens. They are three different breeds who are hanging close to gether for survival. The old stories of the pecking order are alive and true. Hopefully they will all adjust and learn to live together before we introduce the babies. You can help us by praying for coop peace.:)

playing house

I keep finding pillows around the house with somebody sleeping on them. Missy D is playing house all over the place. My daughters have not been this domestic before but I am loving it. She is anxious to take care of others, help in the kitchen and just plays so cute.
These clips are a little long, but like I said--she is just so cute.

FHE hike

We went on a great hike for family night. It was a beautiful slot canyon that we would be happy to take our pageant guests to. All the kids had a great time and the more adventureous ones found they could climb the waterfall.

chicks

We got baby chicks! They are so cute when you bring them home in a tiny chirping box. They will be 2 weeks old on Wednesday. They're still sweet. The ugly stage is next
